Principal Reliability Engineer

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Principal Reliability Engineer on our Reliability/Shock/Vibration Engineering Team in Taipei, Taiwan.

What you'll achieve
As a vital member of our cross-functional engineering team, you will be instrumental in delivering infrastructure hardware solutions for our enterprise customers.  Your primary responsibility will be to ensure exceptional reliability by collaborating on design tradeoffs that also optimize time-to-market, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability.

You will:

  • Account for the reliability of infrastructure hardware by collaborating with development teams, suppliers, and third-party laboratories to ensure reliability goals are met/exceeded
  • Analyze and translate requirements into Statements of Work and Functional Plans
  • Develop comprehensive test plans including Shock & Vibration (S&V), schedules, methods, and custom fixturing to validate product designs
  • Oversee supplier lab activities and resources for both reliability and S&V validation, providing direct support in testing techniques, failure analysis, and solution development
  • Continuously improve test methodologies to address evolving product features and incorporate lessons learned

Essential Requirements

  • Expertise in reliability design and validation
  • Experience with hardware product development
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or Reliability
  • 8+ years of related professional experience

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in server/storage product quality assurance, reliability qualification, and mechanical design analysis including shock and vibration
  • Proficiency with environmental reliability and S&V test methods/equipment, lab procedures, packaging, and simulation techniques like finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
  • Master's degree
