Electrical Senior Principal Engineering Technologist

The role of Electrical Senior Principal Engineering Technologist is a pivotal position within Dell, shaping cutting-edge products, materials, and processes through applied research and advanced engineering.

This field of work involves leading technology investigations, analyzing industry capabilities, and recommending potential acquisitions or vendor partner opportunities. The insights gathered influence product architecture and definitions, while also collaborating with colleagues across the business to ensure Dell's products remain at the forefront.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and influence future products by providing electrical engineering insight into the technology roadmap.
  • Identify and scope projects around innovation opportunities and technology risks.
  • Execute designs for complex systems backed by thorough engineering analysis, taking responsibility for gathering requirements and concepts generation.
  • Engage ODM partners and technology providers to gather information and release requirements.
  • Generate IP to protect innovation.

Your Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 14+ years of experience in designing electronics packaging, with extensive knowledge of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with experience speaking and influencing at an executive level.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems (Gerber experience required) and working knowledge of mass-production manufacturing processes and material costs.
