We are searching for a full-time Native English speaking teacher. We’d love to work with you to provide the best experience for our kids to learn English from you and yourself to explore beautiful Taiwan
Qualifications: A native English speaker with at least a bachelor's degree. Someone who is high energy, hard working, patient, willing to listen, grow, and learn themselves, and able to take on responsibility.
Location: Dou-liu City, Yun-lin County (The capital city of Yun-lin County)
Students: Students’ ages range from kindergarteners to senior high school
Work hours:
Saturdays - Sundays: NO WORK Enjoy your weekend and explore Taiwan Our school (privately owned) does not have classes on the weekends which is different from many other megacorporation cram schools or recruiter pushed institutions in Taiwan
Mondays - Wednesdays , Fridays: the school opens at 12:30 PM. The first class of the day usually begins around 14:00 (the start time slightly varies depending on the day and class). From 14:00 - 18:00, the classes will be elementary school students (grades 2 - 6). Each elementary class runs for a maximum of 90 minutes. In between classes are 10 - 20 minute breaks. Around 18:00 / 18:30 is a 30 minute dinner break. Wednesday dinner is provided by the boss and she will order in from a variety of local restaurants in town. Following the dinner break, from around 18:30 / 19:00 is the start of our junior high school and senior high school classes. These classes end around 21:00.
Thursdays: the school opens at 15:00. This is the case for every Thursday. The same routine follows as the rest of the school days, just with a shorter work day.
Work Expectations: A minimum of 22 teaching hours taught each week. Brainstorming fun, engaging, memorable activities to do with classes and teaching them English in a variety of subjects is your sole responsibility. This means lesson planning hours outside of your teaching hours will need to be done. We are seeking someone who can show up everyday to teach with great positivity and energy. Being able to laugh at yourself and take a joke is needed as kids can be kids sometimes. We offer freedom and flexibility for schedules as long as your performance stays at a high level and we genuinely want you to enjoy your time in Taiwan

Salary: A monthly salary of NT$ 54,800 will be paid for teaching the minimum of 22 teaching hours a week. A monthly housing stipend bonus based on teaching that months teaching performance is as follows:

A flat rate monthly bonus of NT$ 4,000 is for full attendance. An additional teaching performance bonus could be added to each month’s salary based on the discretion of the boss. This is based on your performance in the classroom, lesson plans/activities done, feedback from students, and what she sees. Overtime is paid if one exceeds their originally scheduled teaching hours for that week at a rate taking into account the employee's past experience combined with overall performance in the school. Lastly, a contract signing bonus will be paid if the employee renews his/her contract after one year based on his/her yearly performance This can be a maximum of one month’s salary
Contract Duration: a one year work contract will be signed. We are open to listening and signing excellent teachers to a shorter contract due to exceptional conditions, but this is rarely done.
